MR COOL goes Green!
With the start of 2008, Donald P Dick Air Conditioning has made a commitment to the latest in environmental standards by changing its product line to the newest in refrigeration standards. By only offering products that use the newer R410-A refrigerant, commonly called freon, we’re now in compliance with the newest in Green Building Standards which will not be mandated until at least summer of 2010.
R410-A Refrigerant is an HFC (Hydro-fluorocarbon) gas, as opposed to the older R-22 refrigerant, which is a HCFC (hydro-chlorofluorocarbon) gas. The CFC-based gases are primarily Chlorine, which is now known to be a high-contaminate Greenhouse Gas, due in large parts to the way it combines with our upper atmosphere, breaking down the Ozone layer, and thus reducing the atmosphere’s protection from the harmful UV rays produced by the sun.
We at Donald P Dick Air Conditioning are working ahead of the curve to be as environmentally conscious as is possible.
