When to Consider an Air Conditioning Replacement

In this part of the country, we use our air conditioning systems a lot. Because of the intense heat that we deal with throughout the long summer season, you really need to know that your air conditioner is going to be there for you when you need it most. In order to ensure that this is the case, you must be realistic about when your air conditioner is no longer worth repairing. While it may not be the most exciting investment that you’ll ever make, an air conditioning replacement in Madera may be necessary to guarantee your comfort throughout the hottest time of the year. Consider the following information, and be sure to schedule your AC replacement with a member of the Donald P. Dick Air Conditioning team.

  • System Is Near End of Projected Lifespan – If your air conditioner is not working properly, you may want to consider its age before sinking anymore money into it. Just because it can be fixed, after all, does not mean that it is worth fixing. If your air conditioner is approaching the end of its projected lifespan, you may just want to take the opportunity to replace it entirely. That way, you won’t have it repaired, only to find it completely broken down before long, leaving you to live in an interim of discomfort.
  • System Requires Frequent Repairs – We know that investing in a new air conditioner is a pretty major expense. However, even small repairs can really add up over time as well. If you are paying to have an unreliable system repaired with any frequency, then you may be better off just replacing the system. That way, you can recoup that initial investment over time, in the form of reduced repair costs.
  • System Is Inefficient – Another cost that may justify an AC replacement is a high operating cost. We run our air conditioners far too much around here to be paying more than we should have to in order to do so. If your system is of a low efficiency level, or if it is just old enough to have lost some of its initial efficiency capability, investing in a new, more efficient system is a great way to cut down on your home cooling costs.
